A Ladder to the Tree Top

When you are a mouse, it’s a long, upward trek to the tree’s topper! Following the brightly lit gold star, these little mice are working hard to decorate this holiday tree in time for Christmas! It’s Bobbi here with the sweet Merry Christmice stamps and dies. I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products:

My card measures 5″ X 7″ – an A7 sized card.  This card could be made into an A2 size (5-1/2″ tall X 4-1/4″ wide) easily by removing the arch border. Also, any wall background will do. I used a brick embossing folder that I had, but try a pattern paper for wallpaper! That could be really cute. Keep it simple so that the mice and tree are your stars on this card.

To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I stamped, colored and die cut the following elements:

  • Tree: G09, YG67, YG17, YG00 and a white Gelly Roll Pen
  • Merry mice: C5, C3, C1, B26, B24, R89, R29, R14, YG67, YG03, YR15, R00, and a white Gelly Roll Pen
  • Books/Table: 100, C5, C3, C1, B26, B24, YG67, YR15, E41, R89, R27, R14
  • Presents / Ornaments Star: Y28, Y26, C3, YG67, YG17, YG03, R27, R14, Y26

The books/table are from the Smile More stamp and die sets. The rest of the images are from the Merry Christmice stamps and coordinating dies. These little mice just needed that extra height of that helpful end table!

I used an arch die to create a white border for this design and a rustic brick wall embossing folder to emboss the pattern on white cardstock for the wall behind the design. I attached all of the images, creating a cute scene where the mice need not only the end table, but the ladder from the mice set to reach the top of the tree! In order to do this, I did have to add some height to the tree by adding a “red collar” under the tree. Tree collars are really popular this season so its fitting to adding to this tree, too! I made this by cutting a free-hand piece to set under the tree to raise it up.

The floor of the scene was created using a piece of warm gray cardstock. I added presents and ornaments to the floor for fun. Adding shadows under these items helps ground them in place. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Merry Christmice stamp set. With everything in place, this card is ready for the mail!
