Hi everyone, this is Nicky back with you again guest designing for Alex Syberia Designs and I’m happy to be sharing this card created entirely from die-cut pieces for a fresh Christmas card idea. To create this design I used the following ASD products:-
This is an A6 card with finished dimensions of 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches and first of all I die cut a white A2 panel of sturdy white cardstock using the Sparkly Flakes Cover Die. I backed this panel with white craft foam and adhered it to a white A6 panel and then to my prepared card base. This was set to one side.
I found some pale blue cardstock in my stash and I repeatedly die cut using dies contained in both the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set and the Winter Foliage Die Set. I then did some soft ink blending on all of these images using Powder Blue, Cerulean and Cornflower inks by The Stamp Market.
I created a base for the wreath by using some nesting circle dies from my stash and I began layering the ink blended ‘greenery’ by tucking each new frond under the last and glueing it just at it’s base and until I had gone all the way around. I tucked in some silver berries and attached a double bow that I die cut from sparkling silver cardstock. I backed the wreath with dimensional foam tape and adhered it to the card’s background.
I used Stickles glitter in ‘Crystal’ and dabbed on some sparkle and as that was drying I chose two sentiments from ‘Christmas Sentiments’ and stamped them and added them to the card for a simple finishing touch.
It has been my absolute pleasure to guest design for Alex Syberia Design this week and last. I hope you have been inspired by my projects and have fun in your craft room.
Nicky
