Meet the Creative Team

We are delighted to introduce you to our CREATIVE TEAM. You will probably recognize many of these amazing cardmakers from previous years. These incredibly talented people will be inspiring you with their projects throughout 2023!

Hannelie Bester

Hi, my name is Hannelie Bester, I am a South-African living in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) for the last 12 years. We moved to this part of the world because of a job opportunity that was offered to my husband. I’ve been making cards for many years, but I started blogging soon after we moved here… hence the title of my blog!
Living so far away from my loved ones, made me realize just how much I love them. Card making helps me cope with being far away from home, and challenges my right brain, since I am a left brained, logical, and analytical pharmacist at heart!
Clean, simple and graphic would be a good description of my style.

Nicoletta Porcu

Hi everyone! My name is Nicoletta  and I live on the beautiful island of Sardinia, in Italy, with my supportive and lovely hubby and my sweet daughter Alice who fill my heart, I’ve always had a love for all sorts of craft, I first discovered scrapbooking in 2002 while visiting friend of mine that show me an album made by her mother. Beside from spending time with my loved ones and paper crafting is  I enjoy traveling and cooking

Erica A-B

Hi there! I’m Erica, and I’m a self-confessed craft-a-holic. I’ve always been creative in one way or another, for as long as I can remember. Sewing, wood working, metal working, stitching and embroidery etc etc. The list goes on.
My biggest love, however, is card making, and it has been for years now. I started with a christmas card kit some 13+ years ago and it was a slippery slope from there on.
I love colouring and seeing projects come to life in front of me, it speaks to my soul on a deep level. If I didn’t have a crafty outlet, I’m 100% sure I’d go nuts. Or nuttier as some people would say…

Natasha Davis (Tasha)

I’m Tasha, but I go by HandmadeByTasha most places. I live in the UK, with my husband and two daughters. I began crafting after I was taken ill in 2016 and I soon discovered the joy it brought me to be able to do something; I was unable to walk and my hands didn’t do everything I wanted them to, but I could still achieve something and that was such a revelation. I am passionate about crafty therapy and I firmly believe everybody has an artist inside of them, you just need to find that spark of creativity within.

Jyoti Adhikari

2013 was when I started my card-making journey. As I came across one YouTube video where a watercolor piece was turned into a handmade card. There is no turning back since then. After a busy long day at work card-making has become my therapy. Floral stamps are my favorite. I enjoy coloring floral images using different coloring mediums for my cards.

Bonnie Crane

Hello fellow card makers! My name is Bonnie and I am a Canadian who is about to make a big move from British Columbia back to Alberta to be close to my family.

I am a lifelong crafter who found card-making just a few years ago when I retired from a teaching/administrative career. I transitioned from that busy work life to one that focused on creativity! I was immediately ‘hooked’ and am a passionate card-maker!  Between my wonderful daughter and grandson, the ‘puppy crew’, card-making and gardening, my days are full.
I am very excited to join the Alex Syberia Design Team!

Tina Wilstrup

Hi, my name is Tina. I am a wife and mother of a beautiful crafty daughter and 2 very huggable doggies. We live in a small town in the Danish countryside and I love being outside feeling and smelling the fresh air!
I have been very creative my whole life, keeping busy with painting, cross stitching etc and I started making cards in 2015 since I didn’t have a job and needed something to put my mind to. Back then coloring terrified me but I soon learned that coloring is like therapy. Now I love coloring and I love bright, bold colors, texture, layers and of course glitter.
I simply adore Alex’s images and I’m super excited that I get to inspire you all.

Rebecca Rapanaro

My name is Rebecca Rapanaro. I am Canadian. I have always been an artist but I have not always been a card maker. I started cardmaking a few years ago and I’m addicted. My prefered medium is watercolor. I love dark vivid colours and prefer the moonlight over the sunlight. I am married and have two amazing but very busy children, two very eccentric dogs, and a cat who somehow puts up with all of us!

Joe Sysavath

Hi there.  I’m Joe.  Thank you for checking out my bio.  My interest for card-making started around late 2018 when I decided I would make Christmas cards for my nephews and nieces.  From there, I would make cards here and there when time permitted after work.  Unfortunately, because of my busy work and life schedule, I was not able to make many cards.  It wasn’t until late summer of 2019 was when my interest became more of a passion, at which point I decided I would rearrange my schedule to allow time for that new found passion of mine.  By September 1, 2019, I also decided I would make my Instagram account public and post my first card to share with the crafting community. Although I had a huge learning curve (ie. How to watercolor, use alcohol markers and inks, ink blending and other techniques), I have not looked back.  It has been such an amazing and fun journey because I get to be creative but I also got the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people in this community.  I hope card-making brings you a lot of joy like it does for me.  Craft on, my crafty friends!

Maura Roby

I live in MN, have 2 grown children and a husband who is very good at thinking of comments to make when I show him my cards! About 10 years ago a friend asked me to join a group of other teachers from my school to get together monthly to make cards – I told my husband that I wasn’t so sure about the card-making, but that I would go for the collegiality…ha ha ha! Fast forward a year or so and I am avidly making cards anytime that I can, I’m “pinning” cards like crazy, I have set aside a room in my house as a craft room, and my husband can’t believe where all the “stuff” (his words) in this room came from! Card making is such a release for me and adds such joy to my life. And now that I am retired, I am able to do it a lot more often and I am sooooo grateful! Thanks Alex, for inviting me to be a part of your fabulous team.

Preeti Chandran

Eleven years ago, I  was going in full stream to start my practice as a physician in a clinic when  our son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. I was not ready to leave him alone to figure it out.I decided to leave my job and commit full time to taking care of him. As he has gotten older he had learnt to become independent in many ways and left me with very little to do. It was during the time of nothingness,  when I stumbled into the art of card making. Growing up I loved art but I was never encouraged to pursue it. I have always loved giving cards wether to family, friends or even to my patients, so finding an art that focuses on making card was the best thing that could happen to me. I have been  making  cards now for almost 5 years and hit the social media realm with my cards two years ago after much persuasion by my daughters. I love every moment of this journey as it continues to bless me and I am  hoping through this it blesses others as well.
Today, I continue to  make cards and send them to friends and loved ones. I also give my creations to drive-through baristas & cashiers, my kid’s teachers and even strangers, hoping to bring a moment of cheer in their lives. Art is what drew me in, but I have realized, I make cards to touch lives in a small way. I will end this with my motto, the guiding words for my life – “DO THE RIGHT THING, BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO”. For me, the right thing is to spread joy, kindness and unconditional love as much as I can. The easiest way, I find, is to give a card created with love.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my little world with you. I pray and hope that it brings a smile to your face.

Tracy Ware

Hi, I’m Tracy! I’m a wife, mother to two daughters, cat mom and avid paper crafter. A friend introduced me to stamping way back in 1998 and the rest is history! I couldn’t be any more grateful to her for introducing me to such an amazing hobby that I still enjoy today! I’ve pretty much stuck with card making through the years, however I did try scrapbooking when my girls were younger, but always come back to card making. Maybe it’s because the “canvas” is smaller on a card!
