Hi Crafty friends!
This is Natasha here. I am so excited to be up on Alex’s blog today sharing a card using her beautiful slimline – Just Wonderful Floral Slimline card panel. Alex’s February release is gorgeous and this slimline is so much fun to color! So let’s get crafty!
I love working with Alex’s digi stamps, the card panels are so much fun and are ready to go! I printed the digi panel on Fabriano Hot Press watercolor card. I love working with this cardstock, it is good for my printer, but most importantly it works well with my watercolors! Once my image was printed I trimmed it down and taped it down to prevent warping.
Today I am using my Karin markers to color my card panel. I love these markers for watercolor, they are so bright and easy to work with. The colors I used are (from lightest to darkest):
Flowers: Pale Pink, Rose Pink, Plum
Leaves: Lime Green, Lush Green, Olive Black
Gird: Arctic Blue, Egyptian Blue, Royal Blue
When I use my karin markers I work from my lightest shade to my darkest shade. I allow each layer to dry between colors. I have had the most success this way. Once my card panel was colored, it was time to add a bit more dimension. I added colored pencils to the nooks and crannies. I love this trick!
I love adding stencils, ink blending, and even texture paste! It adds a lot of dimension to your card! I chose a stencil by Maker Forte – Diamonds and Parallelograms. I inked blended using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide. Once it was dry, I added a layer of texture paste in various sections of the stencil. I then added a bit of glitter over the texture paste to add more shine! I love sparkles, don’t you!
To complete my card I die cut a Hello sentiment using a die from Altenew. I die cut this 2x using black cardstock. I adhered these together. I also chose a pre-printed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I added a bit of interest behind the card panel using a slimline die from Gina Marie Designs. I adhered everything together and my card was compelte! I hope it will bring a smile to someone!
Thank you for stopping by today!
Crafty Hugs,
Natasha
