Release
There are lots of new digi stamps being released today. This time I’ve illustrated 14 images for you. You can print them out and use them on cards, gift tags or many people use them for scrapbooking and journaling. I am a big fan of huge images and close-up images in cardmaking, so that why I draw detailed flowers, close-ups… And I make ready-to-use Slim Card Panels and Floral Frame Card Panels.
I’ve drawn not only flowers this time but something new for me and I hope you like it too.
I decided to illustrate some characters..that doesn’t sound like me..because you know, I love flowers and bouquets…
As an artist, I love learning about other cultures and customs, and I am always looking for new ways to be inspired. Everything in my creative process begins with inspiration or any memories and the thing is, we can’t get inspired whenever we wanted. The inspiration is an ongoing process that we need to train our mind to collect ideas and store it in a place where we can use whenever we need. And I found my old ideas to illustrate Matryoshka collection (Russian dolls/nesting dolls).
By the time I found that idea, I had already finished sketching my flower designs: Almond Blooms, White Jasmine, and Gardenias…And I thought that I need something from Japan…and immediately the other idea came to my mind, that I have to draw Japanese dolls this time, not Russian dolls. LOL
So, I illustrated three Japanese Kokeshi dolls. Kokeshi are simple wooden dolls with no arms or legs that have been crafted for more than 150 years as a toy for children, but later became popular among collectors. The origin of the name “Kokeshi” is unclear, some historians suggest that the name is a combination of names given to the dolls by their manufacturers. So, I gave names to my dolls too. And their names mean:
Mitsuki – Beautiful moon
Akemi – Bright and Beautiful
Fumiko – Child of treasured beauty
These cards were made by Enna Adams:
I wanted to share a short story about these characters with you. I think they are cute, what do you think? 🙂 I hope you like these dolls! I can’t wait to see what you will make with the new digi stamps!

Alex you amaze me with each release and this one is exceptionally fabulous! I adore the flowers and succulents but the Japanese Kokeshi dolls are magnificent. Congrats on a great release and your first Blog Hop, I am so excited for you my friend.
Love the white gardenia but the succulent is a close second. Such beautiful work!
I’m not greedy, I want them all Alex, a stunning release and shown to perfection by the most amazing line up of guest designers. The dolls are a perfect edition that will play beautifully with your amazing blooms.

Incredibly beautiful release, Alex! Your illustrations are amazing! Thank you for inviting me to participate in this event!
I love your new release. The flowers are absolutely beautiful!
I love your digis!! I have had fun coloring the ones I bought. My favorite flower has always been the gardenia. The fragrance is so heavenly. I would love to see you do a lily of the valley if you haven’t already. It’s my birth flower and my mother used to grow them when we lived in California. So pretty. Thanks for a chance to win more digis!!
I’m a flower person, so I love, love, love your Gardenias. I subscribe to Amber’s blog, so I came on to your site through her. I’m sure I’ll see many more beautiful ideas now that I’m here, but her interpretation is spectacular.
Your new release is beautiful and I love the white jasmine -they will in bloom soon here in my garden – and the Cinese dolls are so sweet! The one with the glasses is so pretty!
