Release
There are lots of new fabulous products being released today, stamps, dies, stencil and all are now available for purchase at the Altenew online store!
Projects
I have five projects to share today created using my favorite products from this release. Thank you to everyone who will be with me until the end of this post!
Happy Pomegranates Stamp Set | Happy Pomegranates Die Set | Candy Cane Stripe Cover Die | Tall Alpha Die
My first Birthday card uses the Happy Pomegranates Stamp Set and the Happy Pomegranates Die Set.
I stamped and colored my pomegranates using Altenew Artist Markers Set D. I added some white gel highlights to my images. I then die cut out the images using the coordinating dies. I stamped flowers and a sentiment using Black Obsidian Pigment Ink and adhered the pomegranates onto my card base, added some sequins.
My second card uses the Happy Pomegranates Stamp Set, the Happy Pomegranates Die Set, the Candy Cane Stripe Cover Die and the Tall Alpha Die set. This time I decided to use the Candy Cane Stripe Cover Die as a stencil to create my background. I colored the images using Altenew Artist Markers Set D in the same style as I did it for the first card. I die cut out the images using the coordinating dies.
I then die cut “BE KIND” in a pink card stock panel using the Tall Alpha Die set (I kept the positive die cuts for my next project). Having assembled the card, I added sequins.
My next card was created with the Happy Pomegranates Stamp Set, watercolors and colored pencils. I stamped images onto a watercolor paper using Altenew Black Obsidian Pigment Ink. The rich black color dries quickly! It’s waterproof, and works beautifully with watercolor. Love this ink! I did coloring using the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors.
I also added pencil details which enhances my watercoloring. I used my favorite Prismacolor pencils. I added some white gel highlights to my images. I then stamped a sentiment from the Happy Pomegranates Stamp Set.
To finish off my card, I added some Studio Katia July Crystals. These red crystals worked perfectly to finish off the design!
Faceted Stars Stamp Set
My next project I used the new Faceted Stars Stamp Set. I was inspired by…socks. LOL I don’t know what made me think about designs by Paul Smith when I started making this card. I just love his patterns, stripes, and colors! So, I decided it has to be a masculine card.
I started by drawing stripes with Kuretake Zig Art & Graphic Twin markers. I used the following colors: Cobalt Blue, Turquoise Green and Peacock Blue. I then stamped the Faceted Stars Stamp onto my background with the Black Obsidian Pigment Ink. I then fussy cut a flower from Altenew Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape and a sentiment from the Faceted Stars Stamp, white heat embossed on black cardstock.
For my final project today, I used the Faceted Stars Stamp Set and the Tall Alpha Die Set. To make a background I used my favorite technique – black cardstock, gold embossing and colored pencils.
I started working on this project by stamping the Faceted Stars Stamp in clear embossing ink onto black cardstock. But before that, I treated the cardstock with an anti-static powder tool to help keep my heat embossing nice. I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to help me get a nice crisp impression. Next, I covered the entire panel with gold embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool.
To add a pop of color to this background I used my Prismacolor pencils in Chsrteuse (PC 989), Peacock Blue (PC 1027), Aquamarine (PC 905) and Light Aqua (PC 992) and colored sections in. I trimmed my colored panel and foam mounted onto an A2 white card base. To create a sentiment for this card I used “BE KIND” (the positive die cuts) from my previous project. To make flowers and leaves I die-cut layers of the flowers and leaves out of mint, rose and pink cardstock and glued them together. To finish off my card I added several sequins.
Well, that’s all for my projects today!

Your cards look great. I sure do love your coloring on those first two cards.
The black and white of the flower against the color and stark background is really lovely!
