Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set | Wonderful Wycinanki Die Set | Polish Papercuts 3D Die
I fell in love with the Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set , Wonderful Wycinanki Die Set and Polish Papercuts 3D Die from the first moment that I saw it.
Wycinanki is the Polish, Ukrainian and Belarusian folk art of paper cutouts. Pronounced vee-chee-non-key, it is known throughout the world as a beautiful paper cut art form. I love folk art so much and I think these designs are unique!
Pattern stamping is a technique that is not my usual style, but I really love it. It is a relatively easy technique to do, and it will always give unique results with your stamps. My first card features the beautiful Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set.
I went with a very simple color palette of blues and reds for this project. I started by stamping the images using Altenew inks in the following colors: Caribbean Sky, Sapphire and Ruby Red. I then stamped a sentiment from the Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set onto a white stripe of cardstock and adhered it onto my background.
My second card features the Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set and coordinating dies. This time I decided to use one of my favorite color combos. I used Altenew inks: Aqualicious, Galactic Stream, Warm Sunshine and Black Obsidian Pigment Ink.
For my next projects I chose to use the Polish Papercuts 3D Die. I made a kit which includes a card and a bookmark in one style.
I think these projects look more like folk art but actually my choice of colors is non-traditional. LOL. I used an inlay die technique. I started by cutting out all the elements form my cardstock (deep blue, fuchsia, and gold). I then inserted them into negative dies and glued a few elements above.
I glued the “blue” panel onto white card base and stamped a sentiment from the Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set. For my bookmark, I used a clear sleeve. I got it from my friend but you can find it HERE.
Simply the Best Stamp Set and Simply the Best Die Set
The next amazing products from this release are Simply the Best Stamp Set and Simply the Best Die Set.
I love large flowers, so this one is just amazing! I made a long simple card.
I used Altenew inks for stamping in the following colors: Pinkalicious, Rubellite, Soft Lilac, Deep Iris, Dew Drops, Teal Cave, Sapphire and Black Obsidian Pigment Ink. I die cut out the flowers using the coordinating dies.
I then glued the flowers onto my card base and stamped a sentiment from the Simply the Best Stamp Set.
Antique Roses Stamp Set and Antique Roses Die Set
Floral stamping is what got me hooked up when I started cardmaking. It was the first stamp set (Vintage Roses stamp set) I spotted from Altenew back when they had their first release.
Today I have two cards featuring the gorgeous Antique Roses Stamp Set and Antique Roses Die Set
I started working on the first card by making a background. I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink, Altenew Aqualicious ink and Altenew Galactic Stream ink and ink blended the background from darkest at the top to yellow at the bottom.
I stamped images using Altenew Summer Afternoon ink set and Altenew Green Meadows ink set. I then die cut out the roses and leaves using coordinating dies and assembled my bouquet. I stamped a sentiment from the Simply the Best Stamp Set and added Clear Round Drops.
For my second card for stamping I used Altenew Cherry Blossom Ink set and Altenew Green Meadows ink set. I die cut the flowers and leaves out using coordinating dies and glued onto the card.
I used dark blue cardstock to make a background. A sentiment is from the Simply the Best Stamp Set.

Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set
I had another idea about how to use the Wonderful Wycinanki Stamp Set and I filmed a video. I will show you how to create a card using one of my favorite techniques. A black resist embossed card. The embossed resist technique has been around for ages and is a favorite of many cardmakers. I was inspired by the original colors of wycinanki folk art:
And here is my card. I really love how it turned out. What do you think?
I stamped the images with Altenew inks. I then stamped the same images again on top using Ranger Emboss It Ink ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I used a black Kuretake Zig Art&Graphic Twin marker and applied it all over the panel. I wiped away the black ink on top of the stamped image before it dries. The embossing will resist the black and trap the bright colors underneath.
My video showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel:
I hope you felt inspired today! Thank you for spending time with me!

Wow! All of your cards are so colorful! You did a beautiful job with the Wycinanki sets! But I must say that the antique rose set stole my heart this release! No one compares with Altenew’s layering floral sets and this one is a the tip top of my MUST HAVE, along with the really cool graphic Dot Art set! Thanks for all of the ideas!

Fabulous designs Alex! Love them all, I must say the Antique Roses set is my favorite from this release, therefore your cards with them are my favorite, but the black resist technique yields stunning results! Thanks for the inspiration!
Very pretty projects today!

Wonderful cards – your vintage roses are gorgeous and I love the idea of using those Polish die cuts to make bookmarks – what a lovely little thoughtful gift!
Your colorful projects are beautiful. Thanks for the video. The resist technique used with the folk art stamps took a lot of time and effort but the result is stunning. Nice to see cards that aren’t the standard A2 size, too. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
You’ve been busy with this gorgeous release for sure! I love the cards with the roses, and the wycinanki are so fun, too! I will have to get these sets, being Polish and all 😉
