Projects

Today I made three card projects and filmed a video showing how to create two cards from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or in HD at my YouTube channel.

A Cup of Thanks

The moment I saw the A Cup Of Thanks stamp set, I knew I just had to color it up. I decided to create a bright card with bold colors.

I started by stamping the image and trimming the front card panel and fussy cutting the cup with  Tim Holtz scissors on the edge of the trimmed off part. (Please watch the video) I used my Zig markers to color the image and a background.

To make my card more attractive I drew stripes on a card base using the black marker. Then I mounted the panel onto a card base. I added a sentiment, white embossed on black, several sequins and made some accents with Wink of Stella brush pen.

You’re So Sweet

The flowers in this set are really gorgeous and elegant! I decided to create two cards using them. I was in the mood for watercoloring, and the florals from You’re so Sweet Stamp set were perfect.

So, for my first card I used Winsor&Newton watercolors and Watercolor Paper. My coloring process you can see in the video.

I decorated the card with gorgeous Studio Katia Midnight Blue Crystals.

And my last card is a clean and simple card. I used my favorite techniques – masking and blending.

I started with stamping the image onto a white card stock panel. Then I masked the flowers and a part of the card panel and blended inks: Altenew Voleano Lake, Altenew Lagoon and Distrress ink Evergreen Bough. Removed all masks.

Then I colored the flowers with Zig markers, mounted the panel onto a card base and popped up a sentiment with foam tape.

To finish off my card I added Studio Katia Crystal Clear Fusion sequins.

The card with the cup and shallow bowl–the highlights are spectacular the way they follow the form of the round bowl, and everywhere else. The second and third cards I looked in awe at. The veining work is spectacular which I don’t see in many flowers that are on cards. I MUST incorporate even more vein work. I so appreciate your video. Wish I could slow it up a bit, but nevertheless, thank you.

Your colouring is awesome and breathtaking, unfortunately you were speed colouring in the video because I know for sure that I could learn a lot from it. Thanks Alex for showing your stunning cards with the great new stamps from Studio Katia.

You make it hard to pick a favorite! These are all just
stunning. I do think the 2nd card looks like an art piece
to be hung on the wall. It’s so pretty!
